TAG Releases Industry Research Conducted by Lassiter & Associates

Atlanta, March 4, 2009 — Technology Association of Georgia released its "2008 State of the Industry Report: Technology in Georgia" at the Georgia Technology Summit on March 3, 2009. The report is available for free on TAG's website: www.tagonline.org.

Tino J. Mantella, President of TAG, presented a summary of the findings at the summit to a crowd of 1,200 technology professionals. His presentation outlined Georgia's standing in the nation in technology job growth, entrepreneurial activity, venture capital funding, and much more. He concluded with a challenge to all technology stakeholders to improve the state's five drivers of technology growth: education, entrepreneurial growth, funding, resources, and state support.

"We were so pleased to have had the opportunity to contribute to the knowledge base that is available to the technology community," Nancy L. Chambers, President of Lassiter & Associates, said. "Lassiter & Associates has been invested in the success of the technology industry in Georgia for 15 years. It is incredibly gratifying to be involved on such a strategic level with the industry."

In addition to dozens of government and industry sources, the report includes two proprietary research studies, which, for the first time, give the technology community an understanding of the perspectives of venture capitalists around the country and the needs of entrepreneurs in Georgia.

"The primary research was especially crucial," Mr. Mantella said. "It answered some really important questions for us: why Georgia doesn't get more venture capital and what the entrepreneurial community needs in order to grow. Lassiter's expertise in conducting primary research studies got us answers to these questions that were extraordinarily rich in details."

TAG is offering a free download of the report in its entirety on its Web site www.tagonline.org. "We want this report to be a repository of information for the technology community and as such a free resource for anyone who wants it," Mr. Mantella said. "And we intend to put this information to good use as we talk to the various technology stakeholders in Georgia about how to grow our industry.:
